:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Topic: Bloodmatch :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: This is a form of anarchy, if you will, that entails ALL players being able to kill and be killed by other players. You lose nothing for dying to another PLAYER, but all XP you gain and anything else you do WILL SAVE. So do not quit your guild, or give all your money away, etc. However, you WILL drop everything you are carrying when you die, and this includes money! DEATHS TO MONSTERS STILL COUNT AS A REAL DEATH!!! DEATHS TO MONSTERS STILL COUNT AS A REAL DEATH!!! DEATHS TO MONSTERS STILL COUNT AS A REAL DEATH!!! DEATHS TO MONSTERS STILL COUNT AS A REAL DEATH!!! DEATHS TO MONSTERS STILL COUNT AS A REAL DEATH!!! Participation in a blood match costs each player 10k coins. You do not have to participate. Anyone not participating is relegated to watching. At the end of the Blood Match, the winner (THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!) will reap the rewards of 1/2 of the total Purse acquired by participants. Note: Blood Match is a very random occurrence, don't beg for it, or annoy wizards to bring it on. When it happens it happens. Almost all Blood Matches will be announced at least a day in advance. Things of importance with respect to Blood Match: Due to excessive abuse, you will no longer be able to see Player:Monster fights using the 'watch' ability. Wizards will ignore ALL griping and bitching that is generated from blood matches due to any player witnessed 'BSness', to a point. After that point, blood matches become in jeopardy of becoming extinct, players are in jeopardy of being wiped, etc... NO GOOD will come of any bitching, it will never get a guild power reduced, it will never get a player banned. And it is even possible that your character will be demoted or removed if you do bitch. Keep in mind, the 'point' at which bitching becomes an issue is completely arbitrary and up to the powers that be. So don't push your luck. The point of blood matches is to be fun for everyone, not just you. If you got killed, so be it. We don't want to hear about it. I can't stress this point enough. If you start bitching about guilds, or powers, or players because of things that happened in an blood match, we will be majorly pissed. If you think a bug was abused, you better be DAMN sure it was a bug before you come complaining. Update: 5/30/99 A new thing has been introduced, a TEAM blood match. It's very similar to a real blood match except that the last TEAM alive is the winner. If you're on the winning team (even if you died!) you'll get the recognition and part of the prize (coins) for winning. In team blood matches you do NOT get to pick your team, the teams are built randomly based on level to make them relatively equal. There are a few key players in a team blood match: LEADER - This is the leader of each team. This person carries the team leader horn. This horn can be blown to summon all of the team members to the leaders' location. It can also be waved to heal the entire team to full. Each power can be used only once. FROG - This is basically the 'second in command' on each team, the second highest player. This person carries the PIGWAD (Portable Inter-Galactic Wormhole Activation Device) and he/she can use that device to step through a wormhole to any of his teammates. This device has roughly 7 charges. SAFETY - This person carries a scroll of resurrection that can only be used on the team leader of his/her team. If the safety outlives the team leader, this scroll can be used to bring the leader back. All players less than level 30 receive the BONG OF CHAOS. This wondrous device can be 'toked' for a good sized heal, and possibly over max hp/sp. It has limited charges, so finding WHEN to use it is the key factor.
